The hall in the snow Built originally in 1635, Lartington Hall is a Grade II* listed country house. For over 300 years it was the ancestral home of one of the north's most wealthy Catholic families, who added a fine chapel and a ballroom. The gardens were laid out by architect Joseph Hansom of 'Hansom cab' fame. The present owners have taken 18 years to complete the restoration. The imposing hall and grand staircase lead to spacious reception rooms and bedroom suites, which have been furnished with all modern comforts. The chapel now houses a full sized heated squash court. The house is ideally suited for large families and corporate events.
Very importantly, the central heating system is extremely efficient! Barnard Castle Golf Club is 3 miles away and horse riding at Raygill Riding Centre is nearby.
